Job Title: Trucking Dispatcher – Second Shift (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

To be considered for this role, you must have at least 2 years of experience dispatching local Chicagoland freight in a fast-paced environment with multiple customers/brokers. You must also have intermodal experience (rail ramps, appointments, equipment control). If you do not have this specific experience, please do not apply.

About Us

Geneva Transport LLC is a well-established local carrier based in Bolingbrook, IL, servicing the Chicagoland area. We run refrigerated, dry van, and intermodal freight. We are growing and need a second-shift dispatcher who can jump in, manage drivers, and keep freight moving.

Position Overview

This role is only for second shift : 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM .
You will be responsible for live dispatch, driver support, customer updates, and managing local/intermodal freight as it happens in real time. This is a hands-on ops role in a fast-paced trucking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispatch and support local drivers during the 1PM–9:30PM shift
• Schedule and dispatch drivers based on customer SOPs, pickup/delivery windows, and freight type
• Manage intermodal moves including rail pickups/deliveries, cutoff times, and container status
• Work with dry van, reefer, and intermodal freight
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and brokers throughout the shift
• Monitor trucks in real time and proactively resolve issues, delays, or equipment problems
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
• Document moves accurately in the TMS and internal spreadsheets
• Hand off to next shift/operations with clean notes and updates
• Collaborate with operations to improve on-time performance and service

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years dispatching local Chicagoland freight
• Intermodal experience required (ramp work, container numbers, appointments, rail times)
• Experience with drop and hook, dry van, reefer, and local freight
• Strong knowledge of Chicagoland routes, yards, and rail ramps
• Able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and driver support skills
• Proficient with dispatch/TMS and GPS tracking systems
• Strong understanding of DOT/HOS rules
• CDL is a plus (not required) – helps with understanding equipment and drivers
• Reliable and solutions-focused

Schedule

• Second shift only
• 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
• Must be able to work onsite in Bolingbrook, IL
• Rotating or assigned weekends as needed for coverage
