Job Description

We’re looking for a grounded, people-first operator to help us open one of Bentonville’s most anticipated new hotels — a place where nature, culture, and community come together with heart.

At The Compton , hospitality isn’t a checklist — it’s a feeling. As Director of Operations , you’ll be at the center of how that feeling comes to life every day.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll oversee Guest Services and Housekeeping , bringing structure, clarity, and care to the daily rhythm of the hotel. From back-of-house systems to front-of-house smiles, you’ll make sure everything runs with intention — grounded in the creativity, humanity, and tenacity that define Practice Hospitality .

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, train, and support department leaders to build confident, connected, high-performing teams.
  • Ensure operations reflect The Compton’s standards of service, cleanliness, safety, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver a guest experience that’s thoughtful, seamless, and distinctly Bentonville.
  • Establish and refine systems and processes to support a smooth opening, strong ramp-up, and long-term success.
  • Bring calm, capable leadership — providing presence and perspective through both the planned and the unexpected.

This is a role for a hands-on, people-powered operator who thrives in dynamic environments and understands that exceptional guest experiences start with empowered, supported teams . What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field (strongly preferred)
  • 3–5 years of progressive hotel leadership experience with success in multi-department operations
  • Proven ability to drive performance while fostering a strong team culture
  • Experience with boutique or lifestyle hotels preferred
  • Knowledge of hotel systems, financial management, and operational best practices
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Grounded leadership with a passion for people and purpose
