Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join us at Fides Clinical Research. We are a nephrology-focused clinical research site based in Atlanta GA. This hybrid position combines clinical research coordination with medical assisting responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with a strong clinical background who is passionate about advancing kidney health and contributing to innovative research.

Expected Start Date: January 2026

The CRC will play a key role in coordinating nephrology clinical trials from start-up through close-out while also assisting with direct patient care activities such as collecting vitals, performing ECGs, and processing laboratory samples.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Research Coordination:

  • Coordinate all phases of nephrology clinical trials in accordance with the study protocol, GCP, and site SOPs.
  • Support study start-up activities, including regulatory submissions, IRB correspondence, and essential document preparation.
  • Maintain accurate regulatory and investigator site files (ISF).
  • Schedule and conduct participant visits, ensuring all assessments and procedures are completed per protocol.
  • Conduct screening activities, informed consent discussions, and eligibility assessments with PI.
  • Collect and record source documentation and complete eCRFs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform ECGs, obtain blood and urine samples, process specimens (centrifugation, aliquoting, shipping), and maintain sample logs.
  • Maintain study drug accountability.
  • Prepare for and participate in monitoring visits, audits, and sponsor inspections.
  • Maintain effective communication with sponsors, CROs, and study monitors.
  • Maintain inventory of all clinical research materials, including lab kits, investigational products (IP), and study supplies.
  • Maintain effective communication with site staff including PI and Sub-I’s.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities (as needed):

  • Assist clinical staff by rooming patients, collecting vitals, and updating medical records.
  • Support physicians with general clinic flow and patient preparation for non-research visits.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as measuring height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Send prescriptions or communicate medication updates as directed by the physician.
  • Answer incoming patient phone calls and assist with scheduling or routing messages as needed, depending on staffing availability.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized for daily use.
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to all patients and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field 
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in clinical research.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, vital sign collection, and sample processing.
  • Knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and ICH guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CKD, dialysis, hypertension, or metabolic studies.
  • Familiarity with study start-up, regulatory document management, and sample shipments.
  • Experience with direct patient care
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Vietnamese) preferred but not required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
